Started Dogs

Occasionally throughout the year we have started dogs available.  They range in age from 8 months to older, mature dogs. Most are pups that we have kept from litters based on the request of folks that do not want to go through the puppy stages. 

As with all our puppies we initiate their training a week after birth with our imprinting process. As they grow, we add quartering, retrieving, obedience, introduction to flushing and shot birds. The started dog training process is an ongoing step by step process and most of the youngsters will be ready to go hunting. Those that are over a year old will likely have had a season at our hunting lodge in South Dakota.

It is best to visit the kennel to watch the dogs in action in the field. That way we can get a connection with a dog that likes you and that we think will bond well with you. Although started dogs already have fairly set personalities, they will adjust to their new routine upon going home to a new owner. It has been proven repeatedly that no matter the age of the started dog they bond quickly to new owners.
