Started Dogs
The right dog is waiting for you
Occasionally throughout the year we have started dogs available. They range in age from 8 months to older, mature dogs. Most are pups that we have kept from litters based on the request of folks that do not want to go through the puppy stages.
As with all our puppies we initiate their training a week after birth with our imprinting process. As they grow, we add quartering, retrieving, obedience, introduction to flushing and shot birds. The started dog training process is an ongoing step by step process and most of the youngsters will be ready to go hunting. Those that are over a year old will likely have had a season at our hunting lodge in South Dakota.
It is best to visit the kennel to watch the dogs in action in the field. That way we can get a connection with a dog that likes you and that we think will bond well with you. Although started dogs already have fairly set personalities, they will adjust to their new routine upon going home to a new owner. It has been proven repeatedly that no matter the age of the started dog they bond quickly to new owners.

Cookie
DOB: 05/27/2025
Cookie is a liver and white very active female. She is very alert, active in the field yet under control and within range when quartering. She has a strong nose, good retriever to hand and likes to work and train. She is obedient and likes to be busy. She knows the place board and as been e-collar conditioned and is learning the steady to flush process. Currently she comes off missed birds easily.

Trigger
DOB: 03/8/2025
Trigger is a strong very athletic dog with a very inquisitive mindset. He is training well in the field, quartering within range, e-collar conditioned and retrieves birds or dummy’s well with a soft mouth and good delivery. He is black and white and weighs about 42 pounds. A taller springer with broad shoulder slim body type build with good head and tail set. Trigger possess an active mindset and strong drive and power needed in the hunting field as well as calmness to settle in around the house. Trigger is a cross of our Pine Shadows lines bringing in the activity level of Avery with drive and dependability of Atlas.
