We cannot over emphasize the importance of understanding family and home life dynamics in order to place the right dog with the right family. Pine Shadows doesn’t provide merely a competition or hunting partner but a new member of your family. When you are selected and matched with a Pine Shadows dog or puppy, all of these factors are considered. Through structured play and observation of milestones and socialization, Sophie has become a master at the art of uniting dogs with their ideal human pack.

Mark and Sophie believe in what they do. They stand behind their dogs with total commitment for the life of the dog. You can feel confident in the safety of continued support throughout the life of your pet.

We follow a proven process from start to finish

One of the techniques developed and employed at Pine Shadows is their imprinting process. This is a key difference, producing a well balanced and touchable dog. Starting from birth, Pine Shadows puppies are held, handled and moved in a way to encourage calmness at human touch. The goal is a dog who is able to surrender and find relaxation quickly. This training helps your canine companion have less distress during interactions that could normally be challenging, like veterinary or grooming visits. It also helps develop the mind from day one, producing connection and trust. 
 
When all these factors come together, the product is an extremely versatile dog. Some of the puppies from Pine Shadow have gone on to become field champions, bomb dogs for the NYPD, therapy dogs, bedbug detectors, cadaver search and rescue dogs and perhaps most importantly, the most devoted connection known to mankind.

Due Fall 2026

This pairing is expected to produce liver-and-white puppies weighing approximately 38–45 pounds at maturity. They will be well-proportioned, structurally sound dogs with strong natural retrieving instincts and an eager-to-please temperament. The combination of Topaz’s attentiveness and Mic’s calm demeanor should result in excellent family companions.

NorthStar’s Aerodynamic Force – MIC (3/19/2023)

Mic is a liver-and-white male weighing approximately 44 pounds. He is calm, well-mannered, and easy to handle both in the home and in the field. Mic has an excellent nose, retrieves to hand, and works attentively during hunts. He is currently competing in field trials under the guidance of Morgan and his owner, Drew.

Pine Shadows Topaz (08/18/2024)

Topaz is a liver-and-white female weighing about 36 pounds. She has a strong natural retriever, an excellent nose, and a cooperative disposition. In the field, she is active, quarters close, and responds well to handling. Her build is slightly slender with longer legs, and she consistently demonstrates attentiveness and a desire to please.

Atlas is a black-and-white male known for his field drive and biddable nature. Atlas is an athletic springer, alert, attentive, and well-muscled. Atlas is mannerly at home and with other dogs. He hunts aggressively, excels in water work, and is actively competing in field trials under Morgan and owner Drew.

Thicket A liver-and-white female weighing approximately 38 pounds, Thicket is calm indoors, attentive to people, and shows strong potential as a therapy dog. She has a keen nose, retrieves to hand, and hunts close. She demonstrated solid performance during pheasant hunts at Daybreak last fall.

Expected weight: 40–48 lbs. These pups will have a strong, balanced build—stocky yet agile—with excellent field performance and a calm temperament at home. Coat colors will include liver and white as well as black and white. Combining Cricket’s intelligence with Atlas’s drive should produce exceptional hunting dogs and loyal family companions.
